Douglas’s Journey into Creative Technology
Douglas Allen, the founder of ‘We are dougalien’, is a Geology professor,Musician, innovator , and developer dedicated to enhancing everyday life through technology (or just by listening). With a newly developed interest in Python coding and artificial intelligence, Douglas embraces the power of creativity in solving real-world problems. His journey is marked by a commitment to developing accessible and fun applications that cater to diverse needs. Operating from a virtual studio, he fosters an environment of exploration and collaboration. Douglas’s vision is to empower individuals and communities by transforming ideas into useful digital tools for better well-being.
There has been a lot of recent activity at We are dougalien. Several apps have been converted to web based Streamlit apps that can be accessed on any machine with a web browser, including phones. We are excited to announce the official launch of AMP, the AI maker of proposals. This app is designed to help young scientists, scientists changing research focus, or anyone trying to find achievable research ideas. AMPwill take your topic and fetch peer reviewed articles from any of the four search engines provided (ArXiv, Scholarly, Pub Med, and Symantec Scholar), rank and compare articles for relevance and create an original research proposal including background information, testable hypotheses, expected outcomes, timeline, and a bibliography. The results are downloadable and savable as a .doc file. The proposal is not formatted to allow as is use. All proposals will require authentic research effort by the researcher. The proposal is an idea only and not suitable for publication or submission in any fashion. Use this app to get you started on the right path to research success.
